I recently learned that I am good at tennis! It was very hard at first but then I got better and better! Tennis has made me more athletic and appreciate the outdoors even more!

How cool that you play tennis -- and that you stuck with it through the hard beginning and can truly enjoy its benefits now. That's a nice awareness to have gained about yourself and about tennis:)

Over the summer I learned how to horseback ride. It has been so much fun, spending my time with these wonderful creatures! Being with horses has taught me so much about them and what funny personalities they can have.

This summer I got better at long boarding! I learned how to longboard at the end of the school year last year but recently got better and am really enjoying it!

Hi Brooke, I'm impressed! Long boarding looks very challenging! How cool that you got better at it and had time to enjoy it over the summer. Hope you'll still have some good long boarding weather into the fall.

Over the winding summer days, I found myself traveling across many a city through out the midwest. I visited new sites and saw new things. One such adventure, was on July 26th when I found my family and I heading for a trip south to Turkey Run State Park. I would never have guessed such an adventure could be found in a state park such as this. I saw trenches, boulders the size of houses, trees as old as our country and rivers racing through the land. It was like taking a door to the past. I could easily imagine a dinosaur around the next bend! The trails, were demanding both physically and mentally, with climbs over 1,000 feet high, but they were exhilarating and fun at the same time. For a small town in Indiana, this state park yielded big surprises.

I enjoyed reading your description of Turkey Run State Park. I've never been there, but it sounds amazing! It sounds like you had a wonderful adventure there and a good workout, too! Thanks for sharing the terrific details; I want to go after reading your account, Bryan.

Over the course of the summer, we decided to get a new puppy. Her name is Sadie, and she is so cute! But like most puppies, she chews everything she can get her paws on, so our family has to work together to clean up after her.

I visited Mount Rushmore this summer with my family. We got to see it in person which was way really cool. There is a mini museum sort of thing inside the visitor center with information on how they built it. My brothers and I all really enjoyed the trip.
